Don't even ask me what I was thinking when I made this THING. It's a mechanical coin bank, mocked up like a cross between a WWII stamp machine and a parking meter. Coins are placed in the slot which you can see here. They travel down a series of ramps, striking levers as they go. The construction materials include, wood, plastic, cardboard, paper, glue, paint and some metal. The end result is a machine which is probably just a little sturdier than a cuckoo clock.
Dimensions: 13"H X 7"W X 4"D |

The meter. Of course it's not accurate but it's well balanced and very reactive to any denomination. Quarters send it flying to the right and slamming back to the left. Pennies seem to be the perfect weight, which float it almost all the way to the stopping point, allowing it to drift back to the "Poor" position. |

When the coins get down to this level (after two ramps), they hit a lever which strikes the counter balance of a 4 inch wheel covered in a photographic image of some coins. You can see it rocking back and forth through this little plastic covered window. The "Uncle Sam" logo was copied directly from a WWII stamp machine. |

Once the coins reach the bottom they fall from the ramp system onto this bell. This idea was taken directly from the old pay phones which were configured the same way. That's it, you've just seen the only one of these in the world. |
